Keemun Chinese Black Tea

Keemun is produced in the Qimen County of Huangshan City, in Anhui (Anhwei) province. Keemun has been the English pronunciation for Qimen since way back before China's industrialization.

Keemun has a relatively short history as far as the history of China is concerned. The story goes like this: Sometime around 1875 a servant named Yu Quianchen traveled to the Fujian Province to learn how to make the famous black tea.

Before that time they could only produce green teas and the art of tea making was a very big secret. This knowledge was not simply given, especially to strangers. In fact, it was guarded and handed down throughout the generations.

After Yu returned with his masterful knowledge, the classic Keemun was born and the rest, well, is history. Now the English Breakfast Tea Blend uses Keemun as one of the staple ingredients.

The aroma of Keemun is fruity, with hints of pine, dried plum and floweriness which creates the very distinctive and balanced taste. It also displays a hint of orchid fragrance similar to a Dan Cong or some Darjeelings. It is a sweet cup and an enjoyable delight.

Keemun Chinese Black Tea tastes great!

The tea can have a more bitter taste and the smokiness can be more defined depending on the variety and how it was processed. In China, Keemun is typically drunk without milk or sugar.

Rare and exceptional Keemun Chinese Black Tea. This is a great Chinese Black Tea for everyday consumption. But you may get used to the high quality though...
